CONTACT LENSES
Contact lens fitting is our specialty. We enjoy the challenge of assessing your contact lens needs,
and keeping pace with the latest developments.
A comprehensive trial lens inventory allows
same-day dispensing for most lens wearers .
Disposable Lenses
- silicone hydrogel: this innovative material allows significantly more oxygen to flow through the lens to the eye. Advantages over other materials: superior corneal health, greater comfort, and less dryness. We fit O2Optix, Acuvue Advance, PureVision, and Oasys.
- two-week: a popular choice, available in a broad range of options.
- one day (single use): ultimate in convenience, no care requirements. Lenses are used once and discarded at the end of the day.
- tinted: available in enhancing tints (for light irises) and opaque tints (to change dark eyes to any color). The newest designs include Freshlook and Focus by Ciba, Acuvue 2 by Vistakon, and Versaflex by Ocular Sciences.
- astigmatic (toric): for patients with astigmatism, disposable CLs available in most prescriptions.
- overnight (extended wear): for patients who need flexibility of overnight wear, Focus Night & Day and PureVision silicone hydrogels offer highest levels of oxygen transmission (very breathable).
- bifocals: several soft lens designs are now available. We use primarily Bausch & Lomb Multiples, Acuvue, and Focus Progressives. These lenses provide the greatest success rates in bifocal CLs to date.
Most patients receive their first trial pair at the time of the exam
Frequent Replacement Lenses: designed to be replaced every one to three months. Also available in enhancing tints and toric designs.
Gas Permeable Lenses: for patients who use rigid lenses, latest lens materials and designs for greater comfort, clearer vision. A good option for patients with astigmatism. Durable and minimal care requirements.
